About Connie

Connie Lawrence, LISW-S, PAT
Experiential Therapist & Somatic Guide

Connie is the founder of the Cleveland Psychodrama Institute, where she provides training to mental health professionals in psychodrama and interested clients.  

She is a guide at Onsite Workshops, the renowned center for personal growth, trauma treatment, and human potential in Tennessee and California.    

She is a certified coach of the Strozzi Institute's Somatic Coaching program and offers individual sessions, packages, and intensives that combine somatic coaching and experiential therapy.  (see background below)


Connie is certified by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy.  She provides training for mental health professionals who wish to enliven their practice.

She is a certified somatic coach by the renowned Strozzi Institute for embodied leadership and transformation.  

In 2011 she created Recovery in Motion®, an upbeat experiential program designed for the women's prison of Cleveland and eventually used in other treatment programs.  

She was a trauma therapist at The Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, treating women, men, and child survivors of sexual violence. She facilitated experiential groups focused on trauma treatment.  


Connie  served on the Board of Directors of the Global Association of Interpersonal Neurobiology Studies (GAINS) and has published articles on self-compassion and connected parenting.  


She has a Masters of Social Work from Cleveland State University and a Bachelors of International Studies from the School for International Training in Vermont.  

Connie had 22 successful years in the corporate world as principle of The Lawrence Group, an independent manufacturer's representative firm in the five-state area.  

She lives in rural Northern Ohio, loves her dog, her chickens, and her lovely daughter and granddaughter.  And she loves forests and bodies of water.
